What are your thoughts on the Christy's Fedora?

HI All, I currently have a real cheapy of a fedora and am looking at upgrading. I dont want to spend megabucks and see the Christy's fedora is available for about $160.

Does anyone here have any experience with it and what are your thoughts on it? Or is there anything else in that kind of price range that you prefer.

    Thanks in advance

I've had a Christy's before. Not a horrible hat by any means but I would go for an Akubra Federation in the price range you've discussed. IMO they are a better constructed hat with higher quality felt. You can get a good Indy look out of one and they are very tough hats. Right now the Federation is running around $99 US and the Deluxe model (the felt has been pounced more and is more "refined") is running around $128. Really good prices for good hats.

Out here not knowing a dang thing.

Totally agree with crismans, the Akubra Fed IV is definitely your better option. A VERY well made hat for the price!!
