Re: The Blade Runner Replicas Thread.

I have a replica Blade Runner Neon Umbrella.

Not this expensive real prop that this guy owns.

I've always seen the pictures of the people carrying it, and I like LED things that are different (anyone remember my LED Cylon watch that I posted on this site?), so I bought a replica of the Blade Runner Umbrella. It looks the same, however, the handle is different. Only a real fan of the movie who looks for details would know the difference.

Mine can also double for a lightsaber umbrella, as mine has about 8 different color choices. Just push the button again and again for a different color (purple, blue, green, red, white etc.), or push the button again and the colors will change and morph into the next color continuously.

The very bottom of the handle even has a flashlight built into it!

The umbrella is a real eye catcher at night in the rain!

From the description, it's part pewter and was made from a kit, so it's a custom job- lots of work went into it! (I wouldn't pay that much myself, though, unless it was one of those all-metal versions I mentioned earlier.)

I'm certain I could buy a real pistol for that kind of money.

^ Ah, but a real pistol wouldn't be a Blade Runner gun.

I posted this in another thread (This One), but I'll re-post because it's relevant- I have a cheapo lit-handle umbrella which is not an official Blade Runner piece of merchandise, but similar enough to include in this thread:

The handle is plastic and not metal. I imagine this is not as practical as a sturdier model designed to withstand high winds and actual rain.

Another item from Blade Runner: the square whiskey glass Deckard drinks from:

Anyone interested in getting one of these should go here:
    http://props.steinschneider.com/blad...s/sq_glass.htm
The site also has more pictures of the glass.

On a side note, it's worth mentioning that I have had two separate dealings with Mr. Phil Steinschneider and the man is a pleasure to do business with. Buy his stuff!

Continuing this thread, here is Deckard's tie:

Now all you need to complete the look is that awesome coat he wore! And lots and lots of rain.

One out of two ain't bad (I saved the best for last!)

On a side note, there's no way to wear the sidearm and not have it print through the coat in a painfully obvious manner. At least not my coat; it's not as roomy as a true overcoat. (When I ordered it, I did not take into account how much room I would actually need, so this is used for a light fall or spring season coat for fancier occasions.)

Cool. But is that the wrong colour? In the movie it looked more chocolatey-brown:
