    Definitely the wrong color!

I managed to see (in person) another coat by the same vendor, and it was much browner in comparison. On the vendor's website, the coat looks more orange. In any case, it seems like getting something accurate was a gamble.

That's too bad. Is it worth attempting to give it a dye job to make it brown, or do you think the risk of wrecking it would be too high?

Nah, I'm happy enough the way it is. Here's a pic from Halloween about 2 years ago:

As far as I'm concerned, it's awesome enough for me!

A website is selling a replica of the PKD blaster:

As far as I can tell, there are no working lights/moving parts on this particular model.

That is a nice looking replica, I have to say, and the price isn't too bad either. Some of the replicas I've seen of Deckard's blaster, especially ones coming from China are pretty expensive. Nice that the store is in the States too, so shipping fees wouldn't be as steep. Alas, too expensive for me right now...

On a side note, I was able to admire the gun in high def last weekend as I watched my new blu-ray of the movie.

Yes, I posted that link because I've bought a few items from that site and always had positive experiences, and I thought the price was reasonable enough. For my money, I would at least want some working lights; it's one of the most eye-catching features for me.

I haven't upgraded to the Blu-Ray yet; I already have the 5-pack standard-def version (and the Criterion laserdisc) and don't want to spend money buying the same movie over and over again. (But maybe one day I will do it again anyway- it's Blade Runner, fer crissakes!)

I hear ya. I already had the DVD of the Final Cut, of course, but when I saw it on sale for $6.95, I couldn't pass it up. It's interesting to note, though, that the one I bought is only a 1-disc'er and doesn't include the feature-length documentary.
