I don't have a 10 footer, but, I do have an 8' and one of his new 6' whips.
The 10 footers I have seen in person look just like the 8 footers, just longer. The new 6' whips are smaller in scale, not just lenght.

They are of decent quality, but, need some fine tuning out of the box (namely, a butt-load of leather conditioner).

Once well conditioned and broken in, they actually crack quite well.

If you plan on using it as just a prop to complete the outfit, it is a great choice.
If you plan on cracking it occasionally, It is also a great choice for the money.

However, if you plan on using it on a regular basis, be aware that it will require more maintanence than a more expensive whip (the goatskin they are made out of likes to stretch at the point, right before the fall hitch).

Okay, here's the only pic I have on file, that I posted to another site about darkening the knots. I darkened the knots with some Olive Oil.

I have one! I'm thinking of letting it suntan this summer to see if I can get the leather darker. I wonder if it will work? I had a pair of huaraches sandals in the eighties, I suntanned them to a perfect dark brown color. Yes I said huaraches, remember those? :mexiguy:

Yes, I need to darken my whip up too. I'll give the sun method a go. If we get any this summer that is...
