Since there haven't been any reviews of this jacket yet I thought that I would post a couple of quick pics. I have had this jacket for close to 2 months now and just love it!
The products coming from S&J are top notch contenders in this arena! The attention to detail is noticeable such as their LC hat liner with that late 80's HJ flair, and in this case the ToD jacket which IMO there is nothing lacking. This jacket is very accurate in every way including the collar stand, pleats and hems! The cut and pattern of this particular jacket make it comfortable to wear unlike the hero style from raiders and has easily become my favorite! It is a dark brown thin cowhide and very strong and durable. I highly recommend this jacket as I feel that it is the closest replica to date for ToD.

Yes I do have a slight black eye as I like to walk into things from time to time... :banghead:

Thank you "Ram Man" for the review and pictures of the "Steele and Jones" "Temple of Doom" jacket. Very much appreciated. :goodjob:

In my humble opinion, that jacket looks AWESOME!!

Was the jacket artificially distressed by you or by "Steele and Jones" or is due to two months of real world adventures? Regardless, love the distressed look on that jacket.

And the black eye gives you character. You can always say you had a disagreement with a giant Thuggee in the underground mines of a palace in India. :)

Thanks for your comments!

The distressing came compliments of Steele and Jones. No adventures necessary and no Thuggee's harmed....yet!

Nice. Hopefully Diego will jump in here and discuss the leather a bit more. One of my S&J Raiders is made with it and I can't believe how thin the leather is. Very thin. Thinnest I've ever seen. Reminded me of Tony's tron jacket made of kangaroo. It's fascinating also as I didn't think Diego distressed it. The leather itself I thought looked like it came that way. Parts of it look like it has marbling. I think it gives a great raiders/Tod look and if Diego distressed it, then he did a fine job.

I have to say ram man you rock that jacket. Do you mind giving your height and the length of the jacket. Storm flap and back.

Thanks for the compliment NB ;D My height is 6'2". The back length without collar stand is 25.25", front storm flap measures 23", sleeve length is 26". My jacket size is 44 and this one measures 23" pit to pit.

NB, according to your description, I think you own our one-of-a-kind "Mid Brown Pre-distressed Thin Cowhide" Raiders jacket we made (Tibor's jacket.).
Different leather my friend. However, similar thickness.
But the drape is someway different.

If it is that jacket, bear in mind haves many pattern tweaks (Tibor loves to experiment on patterns)

Maybe you can post a review and some pictures of it, so I can be more specific on it.

Thanks! Cheers!

Ok. Will do. But nevertheless, whatever leather you used for ram mans Tod, I really think it looks like it makes a terrific raiders/tod leather. Of course, ram man does wear it quite well 8)

A nice looking jacket indeed! The distressing looks great (and natural), and I love the creasing in the sleeves, very much like the jacket in TOD.

And glad to hear no Thuggees were harmed in the process of distressing the jacket. :D

Yep, this leather develops a very nice grain with use.
Take a look at this knibs pictures.

How long was the wait for this to be done? Great looking jacket. I have one on order as well, and I can't wait.

Other orders (specially from last year) aren't a parameter for the current waiting time.
I'm constantly trying to speed up the work.
Our workshop do the assembly job very slow.
But also I'm trying to keep the costs low, by doing all the detailed work myself.

If I choose to outsource the detailed work, we will end up with higher prices, and NOT accurate jackets.

I can assure you, the jacket worth the wait.

Cheers.-

Oh, I have no doubt! I wouldn't of ordered from you guys if I thought otherwise. Love your work. Was just curious how long he waited for this one is all.

As Diego mentioned the process takes a little time but the workmanship from this factory is top notch in addition to what Diego himself contributes resulting in a high quality product. The wait can last several months. I like to just forget about it until one day when I receive that long anticipated email from Diego prior to shipping and THATS when I get excited. I assure you though some things are worth the wait and this jacket is no exception...

Can't wait to see your jacket when it arrives. ;D

That last one of Knibs showing the leather up close is really, really sweet. That may be the first cowhide I've seen that gives a near perfect raiders/Tod look. No, it's not Ribby merino lamb of course, but seriously it gives the total vibe IMO.

That picture is the one that convinced me I wanted one. Never was a leather jacket guy..till I saw the one I would wear without a doubt.

Nice! Looks great! I love the look of the creasing on the sleeves. I guess that's a result of the thinner hide?

Thanks Jeff!

Those creasings are a combination of leather and correct pattern.
