If someone could post the picture, it would be greatly appreciated. For some reason, I cannot see the picture. I thank you.

Oh joy. Another vendor who doesn't sell slacks in my size. Never really fair for us little guys. I'd be swimming in size 32. So then it's either import from Wested ($150 for pants most agree aren't even that accurate?) or go custom with Magnoli. Neither option is light on the wallet. Frustrating. Guess I'll be sticking with the LLBeans for a while longer.

Having place screen used right next to the Wested's I would disagree with those who say that.

Real English cavalry twill is expensive fabric.

Colour and fabric is closer than any other maker. The trousers are not GREY like people imagine.

The taper that the tallies shouldn't effect you if toy are small, if anything you might find the shortened legs a little wide at the cuff.

Any chance that there are any photos laying around of the screen used vs Wested's compare that we could see? I can't believe you said if someone is toy small ???

I agree with KT. I think Wested's are great. I wish they came without creases, but hard to beat otherwise. The color is as perfect as could be, having a little bit of the chameleon ability in different light.

You can get rid of the creases easy enough with some steam from a steam iron :-)

Regards the colour, I wore my Wested trousers to a trip to the RMSG a few years back. If you recall KT someone there was wearing NH trousers? My Westeds were definitely light and too warm a colour in comparison

Some batches of NH's trousers were a bit grey. I saw some left over NH ones.

No, I am comparing to the actual screen used trousers. Now admittedly these are likely to have been ToD ones and it's been argued that the ToD and LC trousers were warmer coloured... but with no actual in person evidence....

Sadly I never took a pic of Wested's on top of the screen used ones, but I was surprised at how close they were. I'd believed the grey argument too.

LOL *you not *toy... :)

Whatever the case, the Westeds are a much better Raiders fit than Todds version...

As you can see the colour varies even with the same camera and exposures with and without flash.

Original screen used trousers:

It's the Cairo scenes that makes me buy into the grey idea... Very bright light that makes the jacket look almost black, you'd expect the trousers to look lighter and more khaki coloured wouldn't you?

A lot of the time the tan/pink comes through. In the flying wing sequence for instance and in the Raven Bar.

EG: http://i57.tinypic.com/1zztbtj.jpg

Many of the Cairo stills are quite blue tinged, which may be knocking out the warmth.

That's a good shot that supports your argument well.
Everything has a redish tinge in the Raven Bar scene though...
Personally I'd be surprised if they didn't actually use some 'found' officers pinks for the trousers. I mean, why bother to make some specially? It's not as if they're that unusual. If this was the case then you're almost certainly correct

Seems I started a little debate! Sorry, didn't mean to derail things, but I do appreciate this healthy discussion!

KT, the pants look great on you. I know from other discussions on IndyLounge that you're fairly short. I'm 5'3". How tall are you?

All the same, Todd's and these new WPGs are $85. Westeds are $100+ 45 shipping. It's a whole different ballpark.

It's potentially a false economy though as far as the Todds go. The material and colour is great but the pattern is just seriously odd. The only way the Todds can be worn so that they fit, is as proper
vintage trousers with a very high waist. While this would be historically accurate it's 100% not what we see in Raiders. If you don't wear the Todds with the waist pulled up high you end up with a really saggy crotch which also looks plain wrong... and unlike long legs there's no alteration that can fix this. The Westeds on the other hand, fit like a normal pair of trousers as seen on screen.

See here a vintage jacket and grey pants. Looks wrong. But the jacket colour looks right.

Was able to obtain a picture from the WPG website. Not exactly the most flattering of pictures of the pants. And no pictures are available, at this time, of the back of the pants.

They could have steamed the model too...

Not a bad fabric colour though. Maybe a little shiny?

"Squeezed the trigger" and purchased a pair of the What Price Glory "Indiana Jones" pants. Considering the questionable sizing experience with Todd's Costume pants, I purchased the largest size available as a precaution with the notion of having a tailor taken in the waste. This particular pair is a size 46.

Here are some pictures taken indoor with a flash.

My preliminary review of the pants as follows.

The pants are true to size. Thus, this pair will definitely have to have the waist be taken in for me to wear it along with shortening the inseam. These pants are a 100% wool and VERY substantial in weight. I own a Todd's costumes, a Magnoli Clothiers, and a Noel Howard M.B.A. version of these pants. What Price Glory's version is THE heaviest in weight out of all of them. Wearing these pants during the summer would NOT be recommended. Does not appear to have a military hem which is not an issue for me. As you can see in the pictures, the rear pocket flaps are not as scalloped as a pair of the Todd's Costume's, Magnoli Clothiers, or Noel Howard M.B.A. pair. I plan on asking the tailor who will be doing the waist and length alterations if they could scallop the pocket flaps. Also, there are no suspender buttons on the inside of the pants as with a Todd's Costume's version.

In summary, the pants are okay. Once I get these pants altered in order for me to actually wear, then I can provide a true review.

Hope this somewhat helps.

Pockets look really oddly small and the flaps don't have that scalloped look to 'em.

Actually the pockets remind me a lot of a genuine pair of military pants I own. They're similarly small and unscalloped. Also these, like my genuine military slacks, don't have the slanted darts above the pocket.

So then, here's my guess for what they did:

They took their pattern for military pinks and pleated them. That's it. These aren't Indy pants. They don't have the details. And I feel less concerned about them not being in my size now.

Iahan, considering all you have to get done to these, might it be better to exchange them for a better size?

"RC", actually still deciding if I may just return the pants outright. They are well constructed pants but, the weight of these 100% pants is the factor. As stated on WPG's website, these pants will definitely withstand being dragged behind a truck for they are thick and heavy.

Great for fall and winter season wear. As for spring and summer season wear, not so much.

Great review IAHAN. I really like the color and to me they vibe the correct look. Your description of the weight sounds very much like the eastman's pants. I've found once you get used to the thicker heavier material it's not so bad and then when you wear the Todd's it feels like the lighter weight is fragile. Also, I've worn the eastman's in 100 degree F temp and found they are surprisingly still comfortable to wear. Isn't the property of wool supposed to keep you cool in hot weather and warm in cool weather. I live in a dry climate though, so I don't know yet how uncomfortable the heavier wool may feel in a humid summertime climate.

Got my Todd's back from the tailor. Very, very pleased. Completely fixed all the issues with the Todd's fit. Took pics and will get them posted. I'm glad I got the Todd's now. They are very versatile and along with the color make for great other than Indy wear. Try them with black converse sneakers and a thicker weave shirt like linen.

Thank you, "neutronbomb". Again, still on the fence on what I what to do with the pants. If I do keep them, will exchange them for the proper size. So, once again, we'll see.

With the very limited number of vendors offering "Indiana Jones" pants, just thankful that I was able to obtain two pairs of Todd' Costumes pants, which are my favorite, and two pairs of "second hand" Magnoli Clothiers pants. And will probably order a pair from Wested Leather.

FYI, I spoke to Todd Coyle at "WonderCon" in Anaheim, CA this year and, if I remember our conversation correctly, he was looking at an alternate company to produce the pants so he could offer them once again. But, at that time, everything was still in the preliminary stage.

I'm going to combine and move some of these threads to different sections. Like the gear guide or show your gear. Just a heads up if you see stuff moved.

I sent the "sample" pair of trousers to WPG a while back. The pair supplied to WPG was a mid 90s "Raiders" pair in a size 34 waist. I had added extra belt loops and supplied some notes about improving the rear pockets. It looks like Malik just counter sampled the pair i supplied without revisions.
The Noel Howard trousers definitely leaned towards the grey side of things.
