So, is anyone dressing up as Indy today for Halloween? If so, takes some pix so we can see! I'm home today, so I decided to dress up in my gear. I'll take some snaps when there's a little more light in the apartment. :)

Always great photos, and ACTION stance poses! Love it when you do the poses dude!

Here are some selfies I took on Halloween with my iPod. Unfortunately it was an overcast, rainy day so I didn't have a lot of good daylight. :-[

http://imageshack.us/a/img593/6717/iqqt.jpg

http://imageshack.us/a/img266/8402/mqnj.jpg

And again, it always amazes me how the colour of things can vary so widely depending on the lighting, such as the jacket in the 2nd & 3rd photos.

Your costume and photos are GREAT! Your right, it is interesting how the color of the jacket does appear different due to the lighting. Just like you and I noticed how the Fedora's ribbon can look different depending on the light. Great job, and keep 'em coming!

So, anyone planning to "get their Indy on" this Halloween? :)

Unfortunately for me, all the people who normally throw parties on Halloween aren't doing them, and I didn't get a chance to go to the zoo with my daughter (they have a costume theme every year) so this year is a major letdown... and Halloween is my favorite holiday!

Maybe next year.

If people at my work decide to dress up, then I'll be INDY. I must say, that I wear the hat many days anyway, and when it's cold, (like this morning and evening) I wear the jacket, and I bring the satchel to work to hold my wallet, glasses, keys, etc., so I do the INDY thing on many days anyway! I just don't usually wear it all at one time. :whip:

JeffDJ, are you going to be Indy on HALLOWEEN?

JeffDJ
10-29-2014, 06:02 PM
Well, I don't know anyone here with whom to go to Halloween parties or anything, but I'll dress up in my gear for my own enjoyment like I did last year and take some pics (along the lines of my new avatar that I took not too long ago). :D

'Kay, here's me! I didn't go anywhere, but it's fun to dress up in the gear and stuff! (Everything's from Todd's except the jacket, holster & weapons belt).

Y'know, it occurs to me that with my beard looking as it does now, along with a couple of wardrobe additions and maybe a prop saxophone, I could probably pull off a "Mystery of the Blues" Indy. :D

You really have a great Indy Costume JeffDJ! And yeah....you gotta get a sax. Indy_cheers

P.S. Who made the jacket? Is it like mine from U.S. WINGS cowhide?

JeffDJ
11-04-2014, 03:06 PM
^ The jacket from Wested, Last Crusade edition, in their novapelle (duotone) cowhide, which gives it a somewhat aged appearance without it actually being pre-distressed.

Very nice. My U.S. WINGS cowhide also has the same kind of distressed look. Mine looks like the Crystal Skull jacket.

I especially like how the colors came out like the Terry Leonard photo and how the bashing on the fedora is so similar to the Running from Hovitos photo.

Thank you for the compliments. I used a mortar mix from Home Depot. I don't remember which one of these two it was. They are about The same though. When I got it one of the bags was broken and they had swept it into a box and they gave me the box for free. Mortar mix creates a great dust that sticks great and has the right color.

THANKS FOR THIS PICS!!!
Maybe sounds really stupid, but everytime I see pictures of a jacket or hat that I made, it feels overwhelming.
Comes to my mind things like: "wow, that gear looks great" and "glad that our friend is happy with it"
Silly, right?

JeffDJ

The mortar dust on those Natural Chromexcel 405's really seals the deal on the colour. The dusting in the film skews the colour of the boots a lot.

Hey, guys. Haven't been around for a while, but I did get my Indy on for Halloween this year.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Max_Deployment/Indy/templegloom_zps6fe08c1f.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Max_Deployment/media/Indy/templegloom_zps6fe08c1f.jpg.html)

We went to a family birthday/Halloween party and I ran into this guy:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Max_Deployment/Indy/indy_sallah_zps6d82640a.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Max_Deployment/media/Indy/indy_sallah_zps6d82640a.jpg.html)
(I'm waiting for my new Indy whip from MidWest so I had to use my son's 4-footer.)

They were all impressed when I started cracking my whip as I rode the (very sedate) bull:

And here's an extra bonus from Comikaze. Grab your red/blue 3D glasses:

I wish I had swung the satchel around to the side a bit more, but when I'm hurrying to get into position before the self-timer goes off, I'm not really concentrating on the small details! :D Also, the pic on the right was one of the last ones I took, and I hadn't noticed that the weapons belt had started to slip down a bit. Oh well, I'm still happy I decided to use the self-timer on my camera this year rather than go with the typical selfies as in past years. :D

Sure!
Dorfman lid (I know, I know...), second-hand Wested shirt, Wested jacket (goat Raiders custom), vintage gas mask bag satchel w/vintage 2-rifle sling strap, vintage holster, standard web belt and generic leather gunbelt, generic pants, Todd's replica Aldens and 12' David Morgan whip made by The Man himself in 1994.
