This is the thread to post photos of the "RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK" golden idol, or simply to discuss the topic.


Here's some information that will be of interest to many of us.

These are photos of the original, mechanical Golden Idol seen in Raiders Of The Lost Ark. The eyes were made to be moved by remote control. The moving eyes were not used in the film, but the prop remains. The prop was re conditioned, and is stored at the LUCASFILM ARCHIVES. This is what it looks like with the eyes. You can see the seam where the back seperates from the front so the electronics could be built in.
