I see the wade is no longer in the leather business. Anyone know of any other vendors doing indy leather gear?

I have an order with him. My last correspondence was in February. Hope he's okay.

His site says he's not taking new orders. I know he had some serious shoulder problems a while ago

It's a damn shame. Great vendor.

He really is a great guy. Hope everything is fine. His facebook page has been empty for a long time.

I've not spoken to him for a while, but the conversations I have had indicated that he's looking to get out of the place he's in right now...Both working wise and life wise too...

I reckon he'll be ok on the orders already paid for....But yeah, I wouldn't think he'll be able to make anything for sale for a while at least...Sadly....

Lee Keppler MAY be still producing "Indiana Jones" leather gear. His email address is rotla007@aol.com. But, the best way to reach him would be his mobile number (619) 647-6744. And he is the United States Pacific Standard time zone.

There is a vendor out of the United Kingdom. Haven't ordered from this vendor, yet, but, have had prior positive communication. Here is the link to the website.

https://sites.google.com/site/makeitjones/

Then you still have Todd's Costumes with some that company's offerings.

Magnoli Clothiers offers some leather gear but, unfortunately, Wade Egan was the one supplying the leather gear so, that is probably out of the question.

Northern Whip Company http://northernwhipco.com/ offers the double wrap bullwhip holder as does Crease N' Corral http://creasencorral.com/

Hope this helps. :whip:

Actually...No, Magnoli's "supply line" is continuing along with a different leather worker making the gear...So there'll be no noticeable shift there...I think it was Risu? But could be wrong there....He posted on the RPF a while back about it, and his leather gear is lovely too..So he'll be able to continue the line for Magnoli and there'll be no stop there...

Good news for us all, since the designs there were the best...While it's sad that Wade's having to stop, the fact that there are now a few more decent leather workers coming out is encouraging to say the least..

Except that his Raiders straps still have the phantom grooves!

LOL...Yeah...That's what people assumed they saw with the DVD's eh? I suspect the orders now will be put out without the grooves...Since we've got the Blu Ray versions now and the lack of grooves can be checked for sure..

One of those things eh? Sign of the times and all that? LOL

Yes, I enquires last year but the guy who does that part of the business never got back to me
I have a great one from Jake Johnson but it has double grooves rather than the now correct no grooves!

You'd be fine going through Magnoli I reckon.....Like I said, there's a new bloke making the kits for him, so I think you should be fine there...Maybe if you specify no grooves anyway? Should be fine?

Hi - this is David from Makeitjones (the UK vendor ifadventurehasaname mentioned) finally getting round to joining the forums - my bag straps are resolutely groove / edge crease free and always have been!

Have got a better website address now: http://www.makeitjones.co.uk, turnaround on whip holders, straps, belts, falls etc is a couple of days, but a couple of weeks for holsters. Should have a fresh batch of Raiders sandbags ready soon and planning a small run of Raiders holsters over the summer once I get the leather dyed a suitable colour.

Thanks for all the welcomes - here's a couple of pictures showing what I've been up to with holsters recently.

Hand dyed tooling leather blank experiments - the Fiebing oil dyes come out darker than expected but the colour lightens when the leather is flexed so that should be a nice effect when it takes on the 'ghost' outline of a revolver. There's about 9 shades of Brown in the range so need to find one between Saddle Tan and Golden Brown.

Here's one I just finished yesterday - a custom Raiders style for a 5 inch barrel revolver in Golden Brown with white stitching at 6 stitches per inch. This should be heading off to Canada shortly.

Thanks - that one is holster number 20 so I've had a fair bit of practice! There's a bunch of higher res pictures on the holsters page of my website for a better look. There's a lot of work goes into one but it's a really satisfying feeling taking something all the way from just a piece of leather to the finished article. Plus I know they all end up in good homes. No. 20 will be heading off with a bridle leather ROTLA belt to keep it company which should make for a pretty nice rig.
