So after seeing TC's amazing jacket, I couldn't not let him do the same to my new LC. Custom ordered, with a few 'special modifications' :).

And the jacket before the TC treatment...

Terrific look! TC is really, really good on distressing these jackets. If it wasn't for postage rates, I would almost send my Wested ToD for some TC treatment.

I like the look of that Wested as well. Is that auth lamb?

Looks great KT, is it cowhide?

Is it possible to expound on TC's distressing method?

It's a thin antiqued cow.

As for TC's distressing technique.... oooh trade secret. :-X

It really looks good Kt. Nice distressing. Shows again that the distressing is a huge part of the Last Crusade jacket.

The Temple of Doom and Last Crusade jackets really suit cowhide don't they.

Great looking jacket. Those pockets are wonderful. Great distressing too.

I'm sorry - who is TC? I'm VERY interested in this! The LC Jacket is my absolute favorite, and yes, the distressing, as unrealistic as it is, is what "makes" it. I want one badly, but I've often been afraid to distress a jacket like this - afraid I'd inadvertently ruin it.

Thanks! I didn't know he did jacket distressing. So if I chicken out when I get my LC, I know who to send it to. ;D

Sorry, KT! The jacket is awesome, BTW! Were the "special modifications" more for your sizing, or were they related to "screen accurate" details like the pocket size and such?

Great jacket KT! And yes, please give up the "special modifications"!!

The 'Special Modifications'...

The main one was the shape of the pocket and flap coupled with the position in relation to the flap and the bottom of the jacket. This mostly based on the still of Indy and Sallah on the hillside where you get a good view of the full pocket.

Then a couple of stitching details, no hem stitch and no overstitch on the back arm seam.

I also specced the width of the sleeve at the elbow and cuff for a closer fit. I also specced a slightly shorter sleeve than is normally recommended, I've done the 'first joint of the thumb' thing and always end up swimming in it.

Lastly this has a bright gold zipper and a black cotton liner, but you can really see either in any of the pics.

I think you look sharp in this photo:

I do like how the sleeves fit you. I didn't even notice that there is more taper going from the shoulders down to the wrist area than normal. Did you not go with a fully tapered sleeve because of wanting the room in the upper arms shoulder/arm hole area or to try and stay with the look on film. Just curious, but good call on that mod.

Pretty nice KT.

Gorgeous jacket, KT!!! ;)

I like the special modifications and 'treatment' that you have given it. ;) http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Respect/respect-047.gif

BTW, it was great to catch up with you again on Friday. ;D

I don't really distress them as such ... its far far more traumatic than that! ...on the jacket AND on the owner if they are watching (eh KT?)... imagine 10 years of wear and tear applied in 45 minutes ..... and then a quick rub over with leather treatment ... lol ...lol....

TC ....

BTW KT .... having FINALLY persuaded you to distress a jacket it's by far and away you're coolest looking one ... well done!!!! ....

Just wondering why it's a secret. Does The Character offer this distressing service to members?

Yeah, should have taken your advice and started with the alcohol (medicinal). :D

Seriously, it's a 45 minute procedure. Heartstopping... but over pretty quickly.

They say it involves a T40 Time Capsule, and a fellow with a fez and a mop, or was that a scarf?

KT, thanks for the info on your jacket specs. I'm going to be ordering one as soon as I can. I must be confused on my jacket terminology or my eyes are deceiving me. You say you asked for no "hem stitch," and I always took "hem stitch" to be the stitch along the bottom edge of the jacket, but it looks like there is such a stitch on your jacket. So what is the "hem stitch?"

;D I can deal with that. At least I was right about what a hem stitch is. :D That line I see is apparently just the distressing, then, huh? I'm glad Peter will do things like that. I know the LC jacket doesn't have a hem stitch and all other Wested Indys seem to, and I wondered whether he'd be willing to do a "special request" like that. If so I'm definitely asking for that!

I'll certainly distress a jacket for anyone that wants it ... although at their own risk. no money other than covering the postage to me and back...
