Indy style Panama for those summer months

Hey all, been a while. Figured I'd drop in to share my new purchase with you. I just picked this up off of eBay from Panama Bob (seller ID: panamahatsecuador, website: panamas.biz). He's offering them $39 BIN price. It's a brisa weave, grade 2/4, finished in Ecuador. So obviously it's not the nicest Panama you'll ever buy. It comes with a cloth sweatband, and one sided ribbon. But the crown is fairly full, the brim is nice and wide, it's a nice shade of brown, and is every bit lightweight and breathable as you expect a good Panama to be.

Yeah, not too bad at all for the price:) Thanks for posting, jlee! My Peter's Bros. Indy straw will always be my go to summer hat, but I think I might just snag one of those.;)

And oh, if you're wondering, the brim is 2 3/4", the crown comes to just about 4" in the center of the dip at the front, and about 4 1/2" at the highest point in the crease.

I bought a straw 'Indy' hat from Village Hat Shop a few years ago for about the same price. I think I wore it once. I've since been wearing my Fed III during the summers.

My mother-in-law came over recently and had a decent-looking straw fedora from Panama Jack that she bought at CVS for $29. Unfortunately, they don't make this model in L/XL. :(
