You get to choose! Which color do you think is the correct color of Indy's web belt in THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL?

I've been watching the film, and have looked at stills. Because the lighting changes, it's hard to pin down exactly. It's different than the color of his pants. What do YOU think?

Is it KHAKI?

Is it WHEAT?

or some other color?

O.k., that's one vote for khaki. Where is it sold? I looked at Todd's, but didn't care for thiers. I usually buy the web belts from a company on ebay. I like the antiqued brushed buckles they offer with the belts.

Strait City Trading Co. #4002N khaki 50"

Here's a photo of the screen-used belt that knibs took:

And here is the Strait City Web belt compared to the screen-used belt:

Color, weave, and pattern are the same. Pretty much 100% match. Same belt in my opinion.

Yeah order one, and compare your belt to screen-caps. Believe me you won't be disappointed but......

I can't take credit for the find HJJ. It's from months of work from another member on a different forum. Just passing the information along! :whip:

#4002N is the number of several belts. Is this one specifically the "colorado khaki" or just "khaki"? Also, which buckle do you suggest?

Just "khaki". As for the buckle, I wouldn't buy one from there. They're good quality buckles but if you want to go ape-shit-crazy-distressing, I'd search on eBay for authentic vintage WWII solid brass buckle and use some sort of brass antiquing chemical.

This is very tricky to identify because of the lighting used in the movie, and the post production changes and adjustments to lighting. I know there are pics of the actual costume from some events, but when other people look at those pictures on their monitors, the colour will be still slightly off when compared to actually look at it in person.

So, do you think it's not khaki? If not, what color do you think it is?

I've had good luck with Straight City buckles.
They have some that are solid brass (as opposed to plated) that work well. However, they do have a thin coat of lacquer on them that will need to be removed if you plan on distressing it.

I also second the idea of picking up an original WWII issue buckle. You can find them on ebay pretty regularly for decent prices.
Plus, most already have a nice patina that beats any artificial distressing.

I also have bought from the fellow you mention HJJ. I bought their khaki, wheat, and camel as I couldn't tell on screen what I thought was best. And I have to say that while everyone is saying the khaki is the correct one, I prefer the camel one that he offers. This picture was taken from the "Ultimate Guide" book and shows a general lighting of the costume:

Notice how you can see the camel color of the trousers and how the web-belt is more of a goldish-yellow. I've been told definitively that Magnoli's 100% wool in camel is the exact color and weave as the CS trousers and in putting the camel web-belt mentioned above against the trousers, it's a perfect match for the picture above. Therefore, I'd say the camel is the best. However, I still have to buy a khaki one from Strait City to compare.

On a separate note, I have a variety of original WWII brass buckles left that I'd be more than interested to get rid of so if anyone's interested, let me know and I'll try to get an updated list as soon as possible. (everything's at my other home right now).

So you think "camel", and not "wheat" may be the correct color? Perhaps "wheat" and "camel" are the same color, just a different name from different sellers? There is an absolute difference in the color of his pants, and his belt. Did you vote yet?

Wheat

For that seller (Skylight16), I bought both his Wheat and Camel and the wheat was too dark and drab. I take it back that I bought his khaki - it was Wheat, Camel, and Harvest that I bought. The Harvest was too orange, the Wheat was too dark and drab, and the Camel looked perfect. Here's a comparison of the Wheat to the Camel for Skylight16's offerings:
