Has anyone purchased this "Indy" jacket from Flightjacket.com or dealt with the company?

Did a search on other "Indiana Jones" fan message board forums with no real results. Though someone on another board had the "Flightjacket" company replace their Gibson and Barnes "Expedition" jacket collar with a custom collar in which the company did a great job in doing so.

Contacted the company about a custom "Indy" jacket with "Last Crusade" specs and the company stated they can accomodate my custom order.

So, just inquiring if others have had experience with them before I decide to "take one for the team".

Any and all information would be of assistance.

I've never ordered from them before, but I used to get the catalogs. I called them and asked if they could do a custom A-2 jacket. I noticed all replica A-2 jackets from companies are all pretty smooth leather, and yet, my original WW II leather jackets prove that they used leather with lots of grain in areas. It was for function, not looks. They told me they could do whatever I wanted, and would be glad to pick leather that had areas of grain if I wished.

Haven't delt with them yet, but they seem happy to do what I wanted.

That jacket looks really cool. I love the small yoke but the leather does look kinda thick and heavy. Good find!

Alas, I cannot take the credit for "discovering" the Flightjacket website which offers a version of the "Indy" jacket. It was due to a thread on a another "Indiana Jones" fan message board website which lead me to the site.

Again, my research on the Flightjacket company and jacket produced little results. Someone on another fan message board site had dealt with them before a while back and actual purchased a jacket. Seems their experience was positive. But, unfortunately, the pictures on the that particular thread are no longer available.

Have been in contact with the company, by way of email, concerning information on the jacket in which they promptly respond to my inquiries. So, if any additional information becomes available, such as the use of other leathers for the "Indy" jacket, I'll be sure to update the thread.

After contacting Flighjacket.com about the leather used for their "Indy" jacket, I was informed the vintage goatskin leather they use is lightweight and 2 oz thick. After doing some research, it seems to be a thin, lighter weight goatskin. But, any and all information from those more experienced and knowledgable about leather, especially about thickness and weight of leather, would be appreciated.

Trying to find out more information such as type of hardware the Flighjacket company uses on their "Indy" Jacket.

Conducted some more research concerning people's experiences with the company and the products and have found both positive and negative reviews. Read their turnaround time was two weeks.

Right now, somewhat leaning towards "taking one for the team" concerning purchasing a custom "Indy" jacket with my "Last Crusade" specs. But, trying to find out as much information as possible concerning a custom jacket before I make a definite decision.

I purchased an A2 from them a while back - just an off-the-rack one and I don't know much about actual A2s to determine accuracy. But, it's a nice jacket (made from horsehide which was incredibly thick and stiff but is breaking in nicely). The guy who answered my emails (I think he's the owner?) gave answers that were very short, almost curt, but answered all my questions pretty promptly (which is more than I can say about a lot of online businesses!). All in all it was a positive for me, and I'd say the only negative I experienced is that the sizing was all wonky - I generally take a 44 tall (or large tall), but when sending a size request, he recommended a 42 regular - which fit great.

I have been in contact with a Shaul Dover from Flightjackets and, as with your communications experience, the replies to my inquiries have been immediate but, short. So far, not "curt" or rude.

Hoping to find out a bit more information before I make a decision on purchasing a customized "Indy" jacket from the company. Though, the Flightjacket "Indy" jacket is more "screen reminiscent", the company's willingness to accomodate my custom specs is a positive.
