one 'Willis and Geiger' A-2. This jacket is new never worn.
It is one of their limited run line from before they were bought out by LandsEnd.

The story is Wilis and Geiger, back in the 1920s and 1930s were instrumental in designing the USNavy flight jacket and the jacket of the USAAC.
During WW2 they manufactured Navy flight jackets but whether they manufactured A-2s during that time is controversial. What does not seem to be controversial is they were integral in the design effort of the A-2. This jacket is reportedly made to their original pattern
the colour is what i would say is a Seal Brown. Size 42.

you're killing me man! i just bought a new size 42 seal brown horse hide jacket!!! i know you take a long size though so that one probably won't fit me as well as a 42 short, which i ordered.

??? ??? ???

aaaaaahhhh!!! i know that would fit me well. man....that really, really hurts :'( considering i ordered mine not even a week ago.

i love the look of it for sure. my flightjacket a2 should be coming in next week. i will see if my order quenches the fires or if it just gets me hungry for more. your jacket is minty for sure and that price rocks! the only thing that i can see so far that's not per mil spec is the rayon lining.

good luck selling her.....if i do want to start collecting a2's, i'll see if this one is still available at that time.

thanks for providing the details RC :)

I understand the original spec called for silk in the A-2, and W+G used what they line Navy flight jackets with.
As i said it is supposedly their original pattern but their USAAC production is controversial.
It's still a nice jacket.

dude....i totally forgot about that. you are right....i did read that the manufacturers who got the contract changed the linings to cotton (because silk was hard to get at the time iirc). that might be more authentic than i thought.....cool.

absolutely right rc.....that jacket does look sweet ...drool.....

one last question - are the cuffs/waistband pure wool?
