View Full Version : TNO 'striated' Shrunken lamb Raiders

Here is my jacket when new.

I started this project with tony some time back, to create a jacket that replicated the infamous 'striated' Main Hero jacket. (This was not the jacket Tony had to duplicate but was of the same pattern)
Tony took it on as a challenge. Sourcing the correct hide type with correct graining took some time. This is the first of these made by Tony.
Bryan's 'extreme' Striated shrunken lamb project was almost concurrent.

John Penman has seen this jacket.

I LOVE this jacket. For me, this was a real "seed-planter". I'm in your debt for doing this with Tony, Duncan. ;)

It's also a great example of how variable the tanning process can be because each sheep is a bit different. The same, yet quite different grain structure to my jacket made of the same stuff.

I think the front of that jacket is almost perfect! I think the back panel is a bit too heavy of pebbling, but I would love to own that jacket. Beautiful and and almost perfect replica I think.

That is outstanding RC.
Just a beautiful jacket and perfectly researched.
Perhaps the closest replica I have seen for the striated Main Jacket.

Thank you Tyderium.
of course no two jackets will ever be exactly the same but we can hope to get close. I'm happy with this one....even the back ;)

I've bragged on this one before, but it is an awesome jacket. Every time I see this jacket, it tasks me and my bank account.

Yes. Beautiful jacket.

I remember seeing the striations on your sleeve and that did it for me in seeing that the film jacket was made from ribby lambskin. Again, it's what I see in regards to striations.

It even matched what was on the 30 year old hide:

Came across this I took one day. Hope it's ok to post here.

Yes that white stuff. Tony used shrunken lamb for a lot of movie jackets.
Even though he said it was tricky to work with he did seem to love the stuff. He told me they could almost make six CS jackets for the time it took to make a SL Raiders correctly.

Awesome jacket RC. Every Nowak is something so unique... Can't stop watching them. I definitely have to post a detailed review of mine although you guys got the cream of the crop with the striated shrunken lamb.

The Holy Goat (I'm I remembering correctly here, Rask?) is nothing to sneeze at, Rask!

your killing me. I thought I had my mind made up. The jacket looks different in photos than in person. Your photos here that you posted looks more like the movie jacket then it does when I saw it in person.

LOL Sorry John, I really didn't want to mess you up ;)
