Hey you guys! :)

I'm extremely appreciative and honored that Kurt made me a SOC-inspired fedora EVEN AFTER I had been badgering him with jacket and fedora questions. I've always been jealous of others members Schubert hats and now I have the pleasure to own one! It's almost surreal. He's a truly a gentleman and a pleasure to speak to. A BIG shout out to Kurt for all his help, guidance and patience!

He sent me some shots of the hat before he sent it out this morning and all I can say is HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF GOD! WOW! :o My jaw literally hit the floor when I saw these pictures. Now I understand why my good friend DeadSeaScrolls said that this is probably the coolest piece of gear we'll ever own! I have no doubt in my mind this is as close to the actual Raiders hat that fans will ever get. This is the creme-de-la-creme and pretty much just ends my search for Raiders hats.

But enough my my rambling, here are some pictures:

So what do you guys think? Bitchin' or what? Now, we just play the waiting game........

Nice hat. I love these! They look like the screen hat so much!I wish I could get one. Just can't spare the cash right now, or even get Kurt to make one for me!

Congrads. I have one and you are in for a real treat. I also have one of Marc's beaver Raiders and though the materials like kangaroo sweat and beaver felt makes for an overall incredible and superior fedora and I totally love it and wear it, I find that it suits me more as a dressier hat. I end up wearing Kurt's more simply because it vibes so much the Raiders look and I feel goes really well with a more rough, everday look. Can't go wrong either way, but Kurt's definitely rocks the pink socks with the rabbit felt and his Raiders block.

You think your excited now. Wait until you get it in your hands.

Is this a different color of felt than his other hats or is it just the lighting. These look pretty close to the coloring of what you posted:

However, this one of TL behind the scenes outdoors is much darker more like this one of yours:

Did you use a specific screencap or behind the scenes to determine your felt color?

The felt Herbert Johnson used back in the day is really weird when photographed. Although the modern Sable felt looks the same in most lighting conditions, when you use a flash, there is a difference between the old and new felt. It would seem to be the same in other lighting conditions too - The old stuff comes out much lighter, as you see in these pics; where the modern stuff wants to hold the same darker tone. To achieve that lighter look with modern felt, you have to use a lighter felt colour, as I did with the hat pictured.

Best I've seen and the bash on that is phenomenal. Somehow reminds me a bit of the hat in the snake room Raiders scene.

As hat making is so time consuming, these days I'm really only making hats every now and then, as people contact me for them, and to be honest, as I feel the need for pocket money for other projects. I'm pretty much now only doing rebuilds of good condition vintage hats to Raiders specs, and can only do them in sizes 57-58 - 7 1/8 and 7 1/4 - but they do come up in this color relatively often, on eBay etc. If you or anyone else wants anything, just PM me and we can discuss. One way to do things would be to find a hat you like on eBay or wherever, check with me that it's "convertible", buy it and forward to me for reblocking.
